Race Day Pick-Up:

  • Half Marathon: Pickup opens at 7:00 AM
  • All Others: Pickup starts at 7:30 AM
  • Kits are organized by surname (one person may collect for family/team).
  • For those pre-registered, go to the Registration Tent for any distance changes. These will be manually updated on your bib; online records may update after race-day.

Parking and Road Closure

We encourage all participants to arrive early on race day to allow enough time for parking, race kit pick-up (if you haven’t already), and warm-up. Safety is our top priority for both participants and volunteers. While road closures are necessary, a little pre-planning and extra time will help you avoid delays.

  • Before 7:20 AM (Half Marathon Participants):

Enter via Goodwood Road. Police will permit vehicle access before the Half Marathon begins.
Note: If you park in this area, you will not be able to exit until after 11:00 AM due to road closures.

  • After 7:20 AM (All Other Participants):

Use the Central Park Drive entrances and park in one of the lots located on the west side of the park.
From there, walk to the stadium (highlighted in yellow on signage and event maps).

  • Overflow Parking:

Available at Bramalea City Centre Mall, located south of Queen Street.
From the mall, follow the creek trail (which goes under the Queen Street bridge) to walk safely to the stadium.
This route is less than a 10-minute walk and avoids crossing busy roads.

  • Post-Event Tip:
After the event checkout the park as it has wonderful amenities for everyone.

Participant INSTRUCTIOINS

Pre-Race Procedures

Participant Gathering

  • All participants must gather in front of the stage (riser) located in the paved parking area on the north side of Terry Fox Stadium.
  • Welcome messages and warm-up sessions for each race will take place here.
  • Participants will be escorted to the official start line on Bramalea Road prior to race time.
  • Final reminders on sportsmanship and race etiquette will be provided, followed by a one-minute countdown before each race begins

Spectator Instructions

  • Please move to the west boulevard of Bramalea Road to view the race start.
  • Only registered participants are permitted on the paved roadway.
  • Spectators may bring lawn chairs or sit on the curb after the road closure. In rainy weather, use umbrellas or appropriate gear.
  • When seated on the boulevard, others should stand behind seated viewers to ensure everyone can see.

Bib Instructions

  • Wear your bib on the front of your body at stomach level. This ensures visibility for officials monitoring laps and finish times.
  • Bibs are color-coded by race distance for identification.
  • If your bib rips or is lost, notify course officials at each turn and at the finish line.

Race Day Guidelines for Participants

  • Starting Positions: Competitive runners should line up at the front, followed by run/walk participants, then walkers, and finally those with strollers or similar equipment.
  • On the Course: Always stay to the right side of Bramalea Road. The eastmost lane is reserved exclusively for emergency vehicles. Other runners will pass you on your left. Avoid walking in groups or lines that could obstruct others. Yield to vehicles at roadways, park entrances, or as directed by police or course marshals.
  • Finishing the Race: After crossing the finish line, please continue moving through the exit chute so you don’t block other runners still finishing.
  • Post-Race: Get water if needed, then collect your medal and head back to the gathering point for refreshments and to meet friends and family. For additional photos at the finish line, please return by 10:45 am before tear-down. Be respectful of runners still finishing.
  • Awards: The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners should proceed to the stage when confirmed. Awards will be announced by category. This may take time, as we wait for all finishers and verify completion of all laps.
  • Volunteers and Feedback: All event helpers are volunteers. If you notice any issues, please let us know. While some issues may not be fixed this year, we will strive to improve in the future. Feedback and post-race survey responses are appreciated.
  • Bib Numbers: Wear your bib number visibly on your front. If it rips or is lost during the race, notify course officials at each turning point and at the finish line immediately.
  • Course Etiquette: Avoid walking in large groups that block others. If you need to rest, step onto the boulevard to let others pass safely.
  • Bib Identification: Bibs are color-coded according to race distance for easy identification.
  • Fair Play: If you see unfair behavior such as shortcutting, report the bib number to a course marshal or take a photo if possible.
  • Hydration, bag check, washrooms and other info can be founf below.

Rules, Etiquette & Additional Info

  • Participants on Roadway: For safety reasons, only registered participants are permitted on Bramalea Road during the races. One parent may accompany children aged 6 years and under if needed.
  • Spectator Guidelines:
    • There will be no bleachers provided, so spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, or cushions for comfort.
    • Umbrellas or sun protection are recommended in case of weather changes.
    • You may sit on the curb when the road is closed.
    • Please take all personal belongings and dispose of litter properly in designated bins.
  • Photography:
    • Spectators may take photos from the grass boulevard.
    • Non-participants are not allowed on the roadway or in the fenced start/finish chute during the races.
    • After all races are complete, the roadway will be open for photo opportunities.
  • Start Line Protocol:
    • Only participants and designated volunteers are allowed inside the fenced start/finish area.
    • Media and volunteers not assigned to this area must remain outside the fenced space.
  • Guest Remarks: With MC permission, VIPs and sponsors may briefly share remarks aligned with the event’s themes: the importance of fitness for health, education, addressing poverty, and building stronger communities.
  • Positive Spirit: Cheer on all participants regardless of their pace or position. Spread encouragement and positivity.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Please avoid using disposable plastic water bottles. Bring your own reusable bottle—water will be available on-site.
  •

Route Maps for Races

Volunteers will be stationed along the route to display kilometer counts, turning points, and lap information.

Lap Counting and Short Distance Races

  • Race course officials will monitor and record laps completed by runners to ensure the correct distance is covered, especially in case of any timing system glitches. However, due to the number of participants, each runner is encouraged to count their own laps. Once you have completed the required laps, proceed to the finish line chute.
  • The 400m and 1km races do not involve laps and consist of a straight run to the finish. Participants in these races should gather in front of the stage (“Gathering Point”) and will be escorted to the start line by walking along the west side of Bramalea Road. Please allow extra time and energy for this walk.
  • One parent can assist with kids 6 years & under for toddlers race.

Timing Chip

  • Chip timing will be provided for all participants. Your finishing time will be recorded and posted on chiptimeresults.com within minutes of crossing the finish line. You can also get it from our website www.bramptonmarathon.org after the race.
  • It is very important to keep your bib secure and visible throughout the race. Make sure you pass over the timing mats at the start, any interim points (for laps), and the finish line to ensure your time is recorded accurately.
  • If you lose your bib during the race, notify a course official immediately at each turning point and at the finish line.

Bag Check

A bag check service is available at the GGSCF booth/tent. Label your bag clearly with your bib number. To retrieve your bag, you must show your bib. If you are driving, we recommend leaving valuables securely locked in your vehicle’s trunk and leaving only your car keys at the bag check to minimize storage needs. Space may be limited, especially in poor weather.

Hydration

  • Four water stations will be available for participants:
  • One at the gathering point near the stage/riser in the parking area outside the north side of Terry Fox Stadium.
  • Two stations will be placed equidistant along Bramalea Road for use during the race.
  • One at the finish line exit chute for immediate hydration post-race.
  • Energy gels will not be provided. Participants requiring energy supplements should bring their own.

Washrooms

Public washrooms are available within Chinguacousy Park. Additional portable toilets will be provided near the gathering area and along Bramalea Road for race participants.

Medical Services

  • In case of emergency, CALL 911 immediately and notify nearby volunteers for assistance.
  • First aid services are available at the Saint John Ambulance tent located on Bramalea Road near the park entrance.
  • If you notice anyone experiencing cramps, fainting, injury, or other medical issues, please assist if you can.
  • If you are running and unable to stop, especially if racing competitively, please notify the next available volunteer or someone at the Saint John Ambulance station as soon as possible.

Help Desk/Lost & Found
